🌟What to submit to the trans joy newsletter?
Ideas in case you're drawing a blank or need inspiration.
Hello hello!
We’ve been getting questions from folks about what to contribute to the newsletter, what kinds of submissions we’re looking for, and so on.
I’ve been responding with “Anything! As long as it meets the Contributor Guidelines." However, I know from experience that a blank slate can be a creative challenge.
So, I present to you, some prompts and ideas for trans joy submissions! These are by no means comprehensive; please use them merely as starting points in case you’re drawing a blank.

🌟 Other Potentially Helpful Thoughts
Joy can be multifaceted. Your submission doesn’t have to look like Hallmark-style joy, or unicorns shooting rainbows out of their butts. There is rage-joy, grief-joy, quiet joy, neurodivergent joy, ordinary joy, and joys others might not recognize as such — if it gave YOU joy in some way, we want to know about it!
Everyday joy is just as great, if not better, than once-in-a-lifetime JOY. We don’t want this newsletter to be a one-off, or to only feature picture-perfect, off-the-charts joy. When it comes to shifting narratives and nervous system processes, the little things matter and add up over time.
At the end of the day, don’t think too hard about it. Joy doesn’t have to be complicated. Just click send — we’ll love it!
đź“ť The cut-off for submissions to our inaugural issue will be Sunday, March 9th. Anything we receive after that will roll over to the next issue.
Questions? Just respond to this email. You can also send your submission in a reply. :)
Can’t wait to see your trans joy!
